- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente.
- Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream until smooth and combined.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly.
- If needed, add reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve immediately.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with Greek yogurt. For a vegan option, use coconut milk or cashew cream and dairy free Parmesan. Add spinach, mushrooms, chicken, or shrimp for extra protein and texture.
