Description
Caramel Apple Puff Pastries are buttery, warm, and crazy easy to make. Thin apple slices baked on golden puff pastry with cinnamon sugar and a rich caramel drizzle — this dessert smells like fall and tastes even better.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (but still cold)
- 2 medium apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala), thinly sliced
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
- 4–6 tablespoons caramel sauce
- Vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash, core, and slice apples very thinly.
- In a small bowl, mix sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut into 6 equal rectangles and place on baking sheet. Use a fork to poke holes in the center of each.
- Layer apple slices in the center of each pastry. Slightly overlap slices.
- Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture over apples and dot with butter pieces.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce while still warm and serve, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For extra crunch, add chopped pecans before baking. No caramel sauce? Melt soft caramel candies with a splash of cream. Dust with powdered sugar to make it extra pretty.
