Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or individual ramekins.
- In a bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, and salt.
- Whisk in milk, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth.
- Add egg yolks and mix until fully combined.
- In a separate clean bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the lemon mixture, being careful not to deflate.
- Pour batter into prepared dish and place dish in a water bath.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is lightly golden and the center slightly jiggles.
- Remove from oven and cool slightly before serving.
