Ingredients
- 4 medium sweet potatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional toppings: butter, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, cinnamon, or chives
Instructions
- Wash and scrub the sweet potatoes thoroughly under running water.
- Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Pierce each sweet potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape.
- Rub the potatoes lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (optional depending on model).
- Place the sweet potatoes in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
- Cook for 35–45 minutes, depending on the size of the potatoes.
- Turn the potatoes halfway through cooking for even crisping.
- Check doneness by inserting a fork or knife into the center; it should slide in easily.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly.
- Slice open, fluff the interior with a fork, and add your favorite toppings.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
Choose sweet potatoes that are similar in size for even cooking. Larger potatoes may require additional cooking time. Store leftover cooked sweet potatoes in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and reheat in the air fryer for best texture.
